9 month check up
Belle had her check up this afternoon. She was at the 75% for her weight and 15% for height - right along where the other kids were. We talked about her test results coming back normal and them wanting to see her again at 12 months. She said it's important to continue the follow up visits because other symptoms may show up or there may be something that triggers a thought in the neurologist that gets us to a diagnosis. So we will be going back down to Mayo in November or December. She will have her catheter surgery for her heart at the end of October or November. They both have to call me to set up appointments. She says Belle is sticking to being about 3 months behind the other children her age. She was showing skills of a 6 month old she observed. She said as time goes on a diagnosis could be made or they could at least give us a prognosis of her future based on her history. We talked about her iron being low - we found out it was low at WIC last week, not sure if I mentioned that. She decided after talking about her symptoms with food and the low iron they would check her for celiac disease. They took a lot of blood from her arm for the test as well as checking her iron and lead levels. Of course they had trouble finding the vein and she screamed for about 10 minutes! I should find out results next week for those. She also got her first flu shot - she gets a booster in a month and I will get the other two theirs this day too. **Sigh.....Dr. appointments.....
