Dad's procedure

Mom called me and Dad's procedure went well. It only took like 20 minutes or so (but pre-op and recovery they were there about 6 hours). They were able to get the whole tumor. The doctor stated that he believed the prostate cancer and bladder cancer were two separate cancers and not one having spread. They will send the tumor out to be biopsied to find out what type of cancer it is. They did not see anything else while they were in there. They did not have the results of the bone or cat scan. We will get all of the information and results back on the 5th of November and this will let us know what type of treatment he's looking at. The doctor also said that these tumors have a high tendency to come back. He will have to be seen every 3 months to watch for the reoccurance and have them removed if found. If he makes it 2 years without any more growth they consider it gone. So Dad will be home soon and he's done with tests until he knows the final results on the 5th. Thanks for the prayers - I appreciate them and I know the rest of my family does too.

Glad to hear everything went so well.
Also glad that we have blogs to keep up with each other, or I would have no idea what is going on with anyone!
